Back From the River

Every year my husband takes the kids and my Brother-In-Law takes their kids for five days to the river. It is a Dad and kid "vacation." Even if Linda (my sister) and I wanted to go, we probably would not be invited. Instead we use the time to do things around the house, or something else... But the kids have such a BLAST. They are in the water from the time they get up until the time they go to bed. The place they stay at has an indoor pool which the kids can swim in. The kids have their own room. Yikes! How much fun is that. The Dad's stay next door in their own room. But my kids look forward to this trip more so than any other of our "vacations" during the year. They have tons of inner-tube stories, or water craft stories. This year two girls from Lauren's class at school were there. One of the girls parents had a boat, so they were able to ride and ski on the boat. Usually they just ride the water craft from the docks at the hotel. So much fun to see how my kids have grown since they starting doing this "bonding" trip with Dad. These will be memories they will have forever...
