April Showers...

A little bit of whimsy using the Swing Into Spring line from Bella Blvd. I had to design a Scrap Therapy project that could be put together in less than ten minutes. Thursday night at Scrappin' Good Times is our Scrap Therapy with Dr. Ho. (Actually her name is Heidi). The store has a make 'n take priced at $3 generally that you can put together right there. If the project does not sell out on Thursday night, the project is packaged and sold the next day for $5.00. When I saw this new paper from Bella Blvd. I knew I had to use it! It is so festive and H-A-P-P-Y! The die cuts I used are from the new Quickutz 3-D line, a flower and a dragonfly. They are awesome too.

Jackson's Pirate Birthday

My son had a Pirate Birthday Party almost two years ago and I just now started to scrap some of the pictures! How sad... but at the time I did not just want to put pages together quickly and then want to redo them later. I am glad I waited because Quickutz came out with these really cute Pirate dies this year. Combined with the Karen Foster Pirate Paper and the American Crafts sticky foam letters, I am likin' the results. The swirly clear ribbon I wrote about in a

in a previous post. I was rummaging through some possibilities and thought this ribbon was funky enough to add an element to the page. My White Paint Sharpie pen has become a new friend, as I find myself using it on several of my recent layouts. Now if I can just work on the rest of the pages.... I think I'll end op with fifteen pages, we took so many photos this day. Some of the kids were all dressed up like pirates. So cute. We had a cannon ball toss (black water balloons), a "musical island" game, and a treasure hunt. Plus one of those Pirate slide bouncers. It was a gloomy, overcast day which added to the appeal. Plus I took out all my plastic Halloween skeletons and had them hanging from the trees, or laying on the ground with the necklaces (Mardi Gras) and plastic gold coins around their bodies. Jolly Roger flags hanging everywhere. The party favors were all pirate things such as: skull bandaids, a pirate bendy guy, a pirate "kit" which had an eye patch and gold hoop earring, gold candy coins all wrapped in a pirate handkerchief. I called them Pirate Booty Bags. Game prizes were Pirate Books and some other fun stuff in a pirate gift bag. I bought most of my paraphernalia from a company called Accoutrements. They have the wackiest things. I used to buy stuff from them for my store all the time, because they carried items you did not see everyday and just can not believe - actually. Anyway, I have to scrap the whole birthday event because I thought it was so darn stickin' cute! Aaargh!
