Cupcake Accessories

Since my recent posts have been about cupcakes I thought I'd share this site which features lace (laser cut) cupcake wrappers. Perfect for Mother's Day or a Mother/Daughter Tea. The laser-cut cupcake wrappers are a great way to decorate your cupcakes without having to actually "decorate" the cupcakes. The paper wrappers themselves are the art! There are several patterns to pick from, which include the Filigree, Ivy Vine, and White Butterflies. Many stores even sell single cupcake "take home" containers, these would make a wonderful party favor. They even have a seashell wrapper and a palm tree wrapper if you were planning a "tropical" party. Way cute! (Thanks Tina for sharing this site, I love it!)

I also want to add a website that I found that has EVERYTHING about cupcakes! How to decorate, how to make, problem solving, where to buy great cupcakes and more... and the name is so appropriate to cupcakes take the cake! A plethora of cupcakes!

How Exciting!

On April 14th I wrote a post on this blog about the way cute cookbook that is available right now at your local bookstores and through amazon.com titled "Hello, Cupcake." I had uploaded two pictures of the Spaghetti and Meatball Cupcakes I made on Sunday. (And let me just say this... looks like it might be difficult to do but so easy. Took me less than an hour and a half including bake time). Anyway, the first comment was from the author of the cookbook! Yikes! How exciting is that! He, Alan Richardson, wanted to know if he could use the photo of the Spaghetti and Meatball cupcakes for a blog they have started to help the "lay baker" see how easy it is to actually make the cupcakes that are featured in the cookbook. You have to take a look at this blog Hello, Cupcake Blog. There are posts from customers of the book and pictures of the cupcakes they made. And also little secrets, such as on the Spaghetti and Meatball cupcakes I heated the jelly over a low flame to make the jelly more of a syrup consistency which helped it to adhere better to the chocolate candy. Thought I'd share. I think it is exciting!

Too Cute Cupcakes!

I happened upon this really cute cookbook called "Hello, Cupcake!" on Heather Melzer's blog. I think it is one of the cutest cupcake idea books I have ever seen. On Heather's blog she made the corn on the cob cupcakes that are featured in the book, there is also a t.v. dinner! Which consists of six cupcakes in a foil cupcake tin. Each cupcake decorated differently. One is mashed potatoes, one is the peas and carrots, one cupcake is the turkey... you get the idea! After reading Heather's blog, the same night I happened upon the Martha Stewart late run of her show
and the author of Hello, Cupcake! was on the show! Showing the audience how to make these adorable creations! I wished I had this book years ago when my kids were younger... so many cute party ideas. Plus is there are cute Christmas cupcakes, summer cupcakes, a flag cupcake cake. The photography is gorgeous. As you turn each page you will literally sigh, "Aaah." Anyway, I made the spaghetti cupcakes. They came out adorables! My son wanted to know why someone would want to eat "spaghetti" for dessert? Mission accomplished, if he thinks they really looked like pasta!
